There are two very easy steps to ensure you will always know where your files are located.
Open Finder.
Click View.
Click Show Path Bar. At the bottom of Finder you will see the path to where your file/folder is located.
Click Show Status Bar. This will show you how many items are in the window and the amount of free space left on your Hard Drive.
